Swiftwater Group was founded in 1998
by a small group of seasoned pharmaceutical consultants and industry veterans
with the express purpose of taking a fresh approach to helping clients succeed.
Our vision was, and remains today, to approach each client problem, challenge,
or opportunity with customized, industry-specific solutions delivered by
true life sciences experts.
We base our offerings on three key principles:
- Consultants must have industry experience
It is essential that consultants who serve the pharmaceutical industry
know the industry. You’re not likely to be able to fix a broken
clinical development process if you haven’t developed products
yourself or don’t understand the intricacies of managing a
well-disciplined, cross-functional trials process. Most importantly,
if you can’t talk to your clients in their own language and
really hear them when they explain their needs, you will never generate
solutions that are meaningful, relevant and implementable!
- Every client has different needs
Every client is different. Some companies depend on outsourcing every
aspect of development from pre-clinical studies through Phase III
trials. Other companies have expertise in Phase III Clinical Trials,
but have had less experience doing "First in Man" studies.
Still other companies have experience across the board, but are resource-constrained
and need a little help for a growing portfolio, or in a specific
therapeutic area or assay type.
For some clients, time is the most important variable to consider,
and they are willing to spend more money to get results faster. Others
are managing budget issues, and need the best bang-for-the-buck to
support future funding options.
At Swiftwater Group, we don’t try to sell our clients on "soup-to-nuts" projects – we
listen to what the problem is, understand the context, and determine
the best approach. We want to offer services that are value added to
our customers.
- Multiple perspectives produce better results
We believe that the problems, challenges and opportunities that our
clients wrestle with must almost always be tackled from several directions.
We use a combination of sophisticated analytic, planning, and implementation
tools to create integrated solutions to meet specific client needs.
We have experience across all development disciplines; non-clinical,
CMC, clinical,
and regulatory, and understand the importance of the integration
of all these activities when considering a drug’s
development.
By bringing together the best, brightest, and most experienced staff, understanding
the client’s unique challenges, and integrating the input of all the
development disciplines, we offer the best in customized solutions. We have
found that the more committed we become to creating value for our clients,
the more meaningful and rewarding our work is. We know that making our clients
happy and successful has made us happy and successful — and that’s
a great place to be as a consulting firm.
